Catch UP!

So, now a little bit about myself, and then I am done posting for tonight and we can get started on everything else later this week! I am actually getting ready for a trip back home to Arizona~~!

After moving back to Illinois about a year ago, where I grew up most of my childhood, I have faced many unforeseen challenges that have made me truly grateful for all of my close family and friends that helped me settle into my new life! It all began with a boy in the fourth grade.... then I broke his heart, but that was NOT the end! How amazing is the internet huh!?? Who would have thought the love of my life would have been right here all along, a mere comment on facebook catapulting us into a whirlwind fairy-tale romance?!! Oh but it did, and that is just the beginning! I am truly blessed and I am the happiest I have ever been. After a not so normal child-hood, followed by a terrifying adolescence and runaway escape/enlistment into the US Navy... ended up in a few terrible relationships that had me hauling back to wonderful Arizona. Throw in a couple years of college pool parties and club life, I finally managed to pull my head out of my ass (pardon the lingo) and back into school, where I enrolled at Imaj Institute in Scottsdale. A choice that forever changed the path my life was meant to take, bringing me to a future that is yet to be filled with endless happiness, laughter, and beauty!

Imaj Institute, by the way is a school for advanced medical aesthetics and laser technology. I became interested in this field after moving back in with my mother, where I had been going through some deep spiritual changes, and doing yoga about 5 days a week. I have always been a bit of a brainiac, and I wanted to help people feel good about being themselves, in their own skin, and still be able to challenge my mind. The beauty guru that my mother is, helped me along by mentioning it one day while going through all 50 steps to her at-home skin care regimen. It was like a light bulb went off, and it just clicked. I knew what I finally wanted to focus on.

Now, I am sure many of my colleagues will disagree with Imaj's credentials and teaching methods, seeing as the whole time I was there, felt like I was trapped in some sort of an almost senior-citizen-sorority/beauty queen pageant. I am not going to sugar-coat it, I was a bit of an assertive asshole back then, but it doesn't excuse the fact that going to that school was kind of like being in an episode of "Girl Interrupted," that is if the movie ever did get made into a television series. And that's all I have to say about that. Anyways, I tried to stay focused on the big picture, passing my finals, state-boards, and getting my license. Of course I accomplished all of the former, and it felt great! But here is the best part, while I was at Imaj, I met an eccentric, yet brilliantly talented woman. She introduced me to something I never thought I would ever come to have such an intense, insatiable passion for: Eyelash Extensions!! This lovely art has truly changed my life, opened up all kinds of doors, and I am so excited to be talking about this, along with my passion for everything else beauty! So thank you for reading, and please stay tuned for my next post! I have to start planning what to pack, I leave on Thursday!
Have a productive day, and keep joy in your heart :)
